8 Things You Probably Don't Know About Heather
I got tagged! The fabulous photographer Anne Ruthmann started a blog tagging game for other photographers a couple of weeks ago. The rules - you have to reveal 8 things people don't know about you, and then tag other photographers to do the same on their blog. So, here is what you probably don't know about me:
I'm fluent in American Sign Language and spent some time interpreting for deaf students at a technical school.
In my spare time (HA!) I make handmade jewelry from sterling silver wire and semi-precious gemstones. I love jewelry!
I used to make wedding cakes. I took classes from Nicholas Lodge (he made one of Princess Diana's wedding cakes!) and was really great at making handmade and hand painted sugar flowers. However, the stress of getting an intricate cake from one place to another was too much! Plus I discovered that I enjoyed photographing weddings way more!
I LOVE reading. Old novels - especially things like Jane Austin & the Bronte sisters are my favorites. I also love fluff mysteries! Reading a good book, drinking a cup of hot tea and petting my purring kitty is the ultimate in relaxation at home.
I sing. A lot. Not always well. But I sing. I've been told that I have a good voice, and don't even let me near a karoke machine! My family is very musical (my dad plays drums, my brother plays the guitar, and all I can manage is playing a CD!), so we spent a lot of time sitting around singing and enjoying music. We love going to live concerts! My favorite live bands - Muse, Eric Clapton, Santana, Pearl Jam.
I love to travel, especially anywhere warm with a beach and reefs to snorkle. A cruise is fabulous (we're taking one in September!) because I get to see several beaches and snorkle in several different places.
I have a paralegal certification and worked for a while for an attorney. I developed an ulcer and determined that wasn't the job for me!
I am a total klutz, and to add to the problem, I'm double jointed. I bump into things, fall over things, drop things and generally embarass myself by being a klutz. I've gotten used to it over the years, and just hop back up, reassure everyone that I'm ok, and keep on going. But, 'Graceful' is not my middle name!
So that's me! My turn to tag someone! I tag my hubby Kenneth Mason, Joseph Dallas, Dan Almasy, and Hassel Weems.
